Yes
Just received said gimbal, it has gold on join of motors, is there any difference between gold or blue,
In the instructions it shows cable going into GoPro for extra charging, either of two cables don't fit.
Am I missing something.

The gopro cable has a hidden mini socket under a sticky tape.
I noticed a range of slightly different packages such as extension poles and different colours, since I never liked turquoise the gold was my choice too - I don't think it signifies anything.

Rule one:
Never ever turn it on without camera in!
Rule two:
Don't try to update it or calibrate unless something is wrong.
Minor drift is normal and usually restarting while holding the camera down against a level table will fix it.

Download the tools to do it now though.
Getting the software to connect seems to be the troublesome area and Feiyu's instructions are poor - better to watch some youtube videos about it.

I had a funny feeling it might have been under there, thought i would check first, IMO a rubber insert would have been better, (do you use this function)

Good advice thanks.......done first vid with it, seems pretty good certainly irons out a lot of movement, still see walking tho, albeit not as bad without.

It's a bit unclear how much gopro battery life you'd gain - not more than double for sure.
I have tried the plug out but never really used the gimbal long enough to have any need yet.
The gimbal batteries seem to last much longer than you'd think - many hours anyway.

I read somewhere they last four batteries worth of go pro,
I am looking forward to getting a good technique and having some fun with G4,
What sort of stuff do you take?...:)

I work mainly with Phantom 3 video and only got the Hero4 and gimbal in March, the idea being to include footage from both.
Without the gimbal Gopro footage seemed almost unusable alongside the P3 which is beautifully stabilised.
I also use a Drift Ghost as a helmet cam and hope to use off bike sequences done with GoPro and Feiyu with that,

Rule three:
Don't let go of it while it's switched on, the handle spins round and twists the cable until eventually the cable pulls the connector off the socket inside the base.
It's a right b****r to take to bits and plug the cable back in.

To be fair, when I replied, I got a JavaScript error message, so I refreshed before hitting post again as I didn't want to look silly

Pretty much what I have in mind,
Agree phantom is a cracking bit of kit.
Do you look for storytelling, or do you shoot general document stuff?

That suggests having a plan :exit:
If I'm in the mood and have opportunity I record stuff and might or might not put a 5 minute video on one of my youtube channels
