Morning all
My brother has just moved back to Canon and has bought an R7 with 18-150 kit lens.
He’s keen to use a couple of my old manual lenses - principally my 80-200L FD mount.
Am I right in thinking that in the same way this lens will mount on my Sony A7iii with a ‘dumb’ adapter, it’s just a case of me getting him the correct adapter to be able to use FD on the RF mount?
I guess what I’m really asking is whether there are any odd technical or non-obvious reasons why the R7 doesn’t play nicely with old manual lenses.
Thanks

I have successfully used FD lenses on my R6 with an adapter. Mine's is a K&F Concept one.

I can't see why it wouldn't work. If it's anything like a Fuji mirrorless camera he'll have to change a menu setting to allow the camera to shoot without a lens attached. As neither the adapter and lens have electronic contacts the camera has no way of knowing its there so thinks there is no lens attached. But metering will still work fine and with the focus aids on a mirrorless camera using old manual lenses is quite a fun way to shoot.
