Faulty Fujifilm charger

I recently bought an X100S from eBay - it seems like the charger is faulty. The light comes on to show it’s charging but doesn't seem to go off. Batteries last like, 10 minutes. The weird thing is the light on the charger comes on even when it’s not plugged in. It came with about four batteries which I thought was a bit weird but I reckon they were bought because the batteries weren’t holding the charge. Hope it’s not the camera.
Anyone had a similar problem? I’ve read that Fujifilm chargers were the least reliable. Can anyone recommend a decent 3rd party charger??
