Hi all,
I have a Sigma 105mm Macro lens which has seen very little use, subsequently spending most of its time tucked safely away in one of my kit bags. The other day I decided to give the lens a bit of an outing to find that it no longer worked as it should.
The auto focus doesn't work, I can hear the motor trying, but it appears to be sticking somewhere inside the unit. When I switch to manual it is possible to focus, but there is a noticeable light clicking sound rather than a smooth action which it should have.
Questions I have are:
1. What could the problem be?
2. Should I attempt to try an investigate it myself?
I would be very grateful of any advice as this lens is like new and hasn't suffered any drops, knocks, etc... And I am baffled as to why it has done what it has.
Many thanks
Andrew
