Howdy - if anyone is thinking of going to the Faroe Islands I highly recommend it. Here's a video I knocked together of my solo trip in 2012. The nice thing about the place is that it's small enough to get around easily and see a lot of the islands in a week, compared to Iceland which is way bigger.

Just watched your video, wow, looks an amazing group of islands. We flew very low over the islands in 2010 (we were on the first plane to leave Iceland after the volcano explosion!) and I thought then it looks like the place I should visit.
Is it easy to hop from island to island? by that I probably mean cheap as well ;) I assume direct flights are from London only, would be ideal if Manchester as well!

Thanks for sharing

Thanks Mulch. Very easy to get from island to island, as they have tunnels, bridges or causeways between almost all of them. I hired a v.cheap car (well used but reliable golf estate) for not much money. There's Mykines and the big island in the south that you cant drive to, but just hop on a helicopter :-).

Direct flights are from Gatwick. Not sure about Manchester - worth checking on atlantic.fo. Actually just did that and there are flights from Manchester.

Love the video!
I've spent a few winters photographing in the Inner Hebrides and your video is one of the best explanations I've seen as to what it's like to be at the Ends of the Earth taking these sorts of images.
Faroes was already on my wish list, it's just gone up the rankings :)

BTW - Nice images :)

Thanks for the info Andy. I've just had a look on atlantic.fo, but kept getting a error page for the Manchester departure.......I'll try again later. Like Duncan, the Faroes has just gone up the rankings of my must visit soon list.
