Hello, I live in Fareham, (Portchester to be exact) and was hoping for those that feel they live near enough to have a meet on a weekend.
Don't mind which day Sat or Sun, am/pm?
I'm sure people don't won't to do a Bank holiday w/e as they're likely to have organised something.
Aside from Bank holiday w/e & I can meet pretty much any w/e & or time on said w/end.

So as a suggestion to give a little time to plan a location lets say April 25/26th. (or a later weekend)

For me Saturday 25th 9am at the location agreed upon.
Some ideas, Netley Abbey, Southampton or Portsmouth docks, New Forest, ????

So, any suggestions, common denominator for time day place is most likely, but then again I'm up for meeting a few times a year, say quarterly?

Hello Paul I noticed your post in 'hello Arthur'.
Thank for replying lets hope some more reply, however, if none then I am more than happy to meet up on that day regardless.
I belong to the Gosport camera club but they only go out the last Sunday of the month & would like to go out more often.
Chat latter...

Mark, I'm not overly fussed what we go for :) - just be good to meet some new folk.

Hi Mark, same attitude as Paul but fancy maybe trying some Yachts or big ships?
Then again I like street photography as well, trying to get out of my comfort zone
& try some stuff I don't normally do, also would like to go to some events, local running
clubs are active at the moment cross country, great for mud & puddles.
There was a running meet at Staunton Country Park last month with over two hundred runners.
I am away from where the memory card with those pics are until next Monday but will put some up here.
Good for practicing pan technique.

How about just out of Fareham along the A27 at the River Hamble there are two Marinas one either side of the bridge.
Also there is a nice pub between the two called 'The Navigator' we could park up there & walk.
I can give people a lift if needed.
I would like to try & get there early if possible if the sun light was good enough!
Especially if it was calm to try for some reflections.

Deacons Marina & Boatyard one side and Swanwick Marina the other side.
Called 'Bridge road' is the part of the A27 at this point.

I'm in Basingstoke so no too far away from me, I'll keep an eye on this thread and let you know closer to the date if I can make it.

Fine with me, and early isn't an issue either :)

More the merrier from my pov :)

Hi Darran I use to live up that way, there is Welford Park which has a fantastic Snowdrop blanketing the ground.
£6 to get in & has pretty much finished by now, but one area I am interested in you might know more about
and if it's worth a visit just outside of Basingstoke is 'Watership Down' some nice pubs I do know but is there anything to photo?
Cheers..

There are quite a few members in Hants but not sure how many use the forum on a regular basis, hopefully some more will wake up and see this thread :)

Although I grew up in Reading, I moved away in 99 and moved here in 2013, I've been out of photography for a few years but recently aquired a Canon 1000D.
I've been googling around and there seems to be some nice scenic places around here that could be worth a visit during spring / summer.
I've just had a quick google of Welford Park, it looks interesting and Newbury is just up the road from me.

The grounds here look interesting http://www3.hants.gov.uk/basing-house/basing-info/bh-siteplan.htm
There might be some decent wildlife along the Loddon, I'm going to check it out once we get some decent weather.
This also looks interesting as well http://www.oldbasing.gov.uk/about-our-parish/places-of-interest/
Watership Down also looks very scenic but will need a nice day for landscape photos.
I can see me and dog doing some very long walks in the near future.

there is a boat wreck down there I'd like to visit, will get the exact location when I'm back on the PC. I used to work just off j9 of the M27 and I love the seaside :)

Basingstoke has some interesting church ruins just behind the train station. Also there's the castle ruin just up at Overton. I have to admit to finding good photo opportunities to be quite rare in these parts. I like follies and I believe there is a tower down soton way, also a windmill?

Hello Summer, if you know of the wreck location we can also visit there.
As another place to visit, either on the same day if we want to stay out for some time or to visit on a different meet
there is this place very near to this bridge over the river which I mentioned to start with.

They have lots of events happening throughout the year.
They have 'Gala days' once or twice a month on Sundays approx £6 per adult, concessions are available for age or disabled.
Otherwise it's £5 normal entrance fee.

The 3rd of May they have Cars Bikes & Trains, wheels of all shapes ages & size.
Plus the cafe is open on Sundays...

So I'm happy to meet up on the Saturday 25th April at this boat wreck nice & early to hopefully get some decent light.
And then again 1 week later at the brick works... or....

We just hold off until the following week, Sunday 3rd of May, get early to the boat wreck then do the marinas (or not) and then onto the Brickworks when they open at 11am (they shut at 4pm).

I think we can between now & then decide where to go say, next month...

So Summer please post here where that wreck is & we can all meet there, I'll be there early if it's not pouring at about 6am & will wait for anyone else to arrive as & when up to approx 10am in time to move on to the next place.
Cheers Simon...

Hi Danones

Im in southampton (harefield)
Not had much time with the camera over the last year, but looking to change that and get out more often if you ever fancy a meet up

Cant do this weekend as were away in basingstoke, i could do the weekend after though

Hello, sorry I have not replied to any of these post (as the author) I have been laid up for many weeks without access to a computer.
Is there any interest in going to the http://www.bursledonbrickworks.org.uk/index.php as posted above?
And if so when would be good? I can make pretty much any weekend.
Cheers,

Yes I wondered, however, this Sunday 9th August 2015 they are having a WWII theme plus the steam engines are fully up and working. I am going with Hampshire Social Snappers on that day, a local group of photographers which meet up most weeks. Which is also the website you'll find them and many other local groups of various types. meetup.com is a site that promotes getting off the web by using the web! You can start a group or join one, free aside from as and when you meet up which is £1.
So anyway I am going to be there on the 9/8/15 at 11am.
