I hope you all arrived home safely after todays marathon tour of the Focus on imaging show.

So.......come on, tell us what you bought and what you thought of it.

I got myself a Pantone eye-one monitor profiling device, which has made a slight difference to my laptop screen image :)
I'll eventually get round to trying it on my main pc, and might even take it to work and see how it fares on my crt :D

If the results on the latter two are OK, i'll do a quick review.

I downloaded the updates from the pantone site and it's added a few extra options to the calibration process :clap:

Well on the phone he got all missed up and said it was my birthday present from him, but he had it the wrong way round and was quick to correct himself, it apparently is my birthday present for him, so i wonder if i could take other present back to the shop???!!!!!!
 
Sue, I heard Matt say the 30d was for you....honestly!

I was verrrrrrry tempted to buy a 5D as it was almost 200 quid cheaper than the ads in mags.
Then I saw the studio lights and had to struggle to restrain my credit cards.
 
I went looking for a macro lens and another bag and came back with nowt!:thumbsdown:
 
Someone went looking for a lens for me, and that seems to be missing :)

Nevermind, it will all save up for the time I really want something ;)
 
He did say he was going to order a 600 L for you, so you can get better birdie shots than CT

Exhausting walking around & trying not to get too intersested in the things you know you cant have!

Well at least I got me a mini trekker & some bulbs.

Nice to meet you all, especially the peeps I spent the day with ... hope Min is safe after her long journey home :)

Well I did not get everything I needed but spent a bit

Prices where not as good as I wanted them to be but where on par with warehouse express
 
I only purchased a bottle of diet coke and a lion bar.:shrug:
But I did have a great day out:)
 
I think I spent most of the day Talking to Jon gray on the bowens stand;) He let me have a go with his mamiya and took some shots of his model Jade Cartwright
and that was fun,as for spending I got 4 packs of ilford A4 1 pack of A3,a background support and a background.I found it to be to busy.
 
I bought a 30d, a 4GB Extreme III CF card and got a 1GB thrown in for free.

I found it way way way too busy.

Saw malla at least twice as he was running up and down the place ;)

I agree though it was horrendously busy.

I went with Steve (The Old Man) was doped up tot he eyeballs with painkillers, flu plus and Night and Day nurse. I came away with nothing except BRONCHITIS.
 
I made the mistake of going on the Sunday last year along with all of the crowds! so decided a day off was required this year and went along yesterday, Have to say I was still very surprised at the number of people there (amazing how many togs out there).

Plenty to look at and managed to get my mitts on the 300mm Canon 2.8 and the Sigma 300mm 2.8 (advised by Diego), have to say I quite liked the Sigma and the chap on stand was very helpful, he even offered to meet up as he lives fairly local and let me try the lens out for half and hour which I thought was a fine offer.

Agree that many of the prices were not much better than can be gained from other routes, some much higher?

Had a very good look at the Mitsubishi Dye Sub printer and again impressed by the tog demonstrating this, a future purchase for me I think....

Guess you didn,t get to Russia then Mike??? will we see you tonight...

And there was me thinking it wasn't that busy at all ... you should try the Bike Show on a Sunday, that is busy :)

I went looking for a bag & tripod and bought neither I did get a matt cutting system though.

Nah, but I did have my eye on a dish! :D

I didnt think it was too busy either, Jacobs was a bit of a nightmare but that was all I noticed as overly busy.
I did a beauty show at EXCEL yesterday... now THAT was busy ... and you couldnt move for women! ;)

Really good to meet everyone, its good to finally put a face to the names, speaking of names I'm very surprised my title hasn't been changed yet as Mr DF threatened too, something about Jobs and Hands wasn't it Min? I just didn't get it:thinking: totally Innocent :naughty:
 
Phew.... I've only just returned home from up north :)
Had a lovely day, great to meet you all. I bought another Optech strap to go on my film camera so I don't have to keep swapping straps over, and a subscription to a mag. Oh, and I bagged a free film from the man on the Ilford stand, and just about re-mortgaged my house to buy a drink and a cookie.

Yes, I'd also just like to add that Glen was on the lookout for a handjob, Photostar_1 was talking about going down, and Inaglo wanted to go the loo for a good tug :eek: :eek: DF just kept quiet for fear of retribution I think :lol:
