of course it would be possible.

the quality and results would depend on a lot of things though. If you are lloking to replicate something you might pay £1000 for at venture then no. but if you just want a standard white background image then yes

Throw the bedsheet over the family, then take a the shot..... I guarantee it will be exposed better.

There is a thread on here about home set ups. There is quite a bit to understand and although it is simple, if you do not get it right it will look awful.

Your camera is fine....the flash(es) are a little more important as they will be lighting the bedsheet and the clients.

Have a good read of this ....... http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=357748

Hi there

A friend of mine did a family portrait with camera, tripod and reflector with a lovely result. I think te reason it worked so well is that he did it outside with oodles of natural light, using the reflector for a bit of fill.

Are you able to get outside?

problem is its abit of the cold side at the moment

Forget the white sheet and use your imagination.

Portraits aren't about backgrounds and trendy, they're about photographing people well.

Windowlight, use the white sheet as a reflector and create an interesting group shape.

As in to reflect the natural light back onto the family group?

Yes. A well placed reflector will produce a nicer light than a flash on camera.
