Where do photographers get their prints? Who do they use?
What do you use for a 'stage' or 'studio'?

I don't do many prints but when i do i generally use DSCL http://dscolourlabs.co.uk/ , ive also used whitewall from time to time for wall art sized work https://uk.whitewall.com

(NB: i do weddings not family portraiture , so most of the time i'm just supplyinfg shots on a stick or disc)

I hire a studio.
Others use backdrops which come on a paper (or vinyl, or cloth) roll and are designed for the purpose.
Still others just use a plain wall - perfectly do-able, especially if you don't shoot full length.
And some folk wouldn't be seen dead anywhere near a flash setup. Or indeed doing family shoots indoors.

The lighting and studio sub-forum and talk people and portraits might be of use if you have more specific questions.

Another vote for DSCL but you must set up / profile your prints at home so you understand what you will get back. Loxley are good too but cost more. I haven't used them for a while, but can you believe Asda had a very good printing service on quality paper.

I use DSCL when I need to print something , as for a stage or studio , personally I prefer to shoot outdoor as I like the natural look , but I do have a couple of backgrounds and lights that I can set up at home If I want to use a studio setting.

But I suppose it depends on what you want to shoot ?
