Just a heads up, I bought a Domke F7 from an eBay store called MuchMall, based in China, and the bag i received is counterfeit.

I have since been in contact with others who have received fake bags from MuchMall, and it turns out that Tiffen (who make Domke bags) are aware that all the bags they sell are fake, but can't do much about it.

So watch out!

make sure you leave feedback to warn others.

Unfortunately the bag appeared genuine at first (came with all tags that it should have) so i left positive feedback.

I've opened the case with ebay but i'm not too hopeful about it

Don't know how ebay get away with allowing this to go on, seems like they continually turn a blind eye to it!

Anyone in doubt just google ebay fakes or counterfeights, it's shocking

As a rule I take it that anything for sale on eBay from China is a fake. The counterfeiting industry there is massive and pretty much unstoppable. If you're buying branded goods avoid Chinese sellers.

Big ding to that

I concur - pretty much any Hoya / B&W or Nikon or Sony battery from HK or China has turned out to be fake I've found.

I'll ditto that.

I've seen fake golf clubs, fake fishing reels, fake Ipods, fake clothes.

Infact I've yet to see anything come from China that is legit.

As before, avoid anything which is branded - you'll be safe :)

Well they made one hell of a job with my Canon EF 90 TS-E. Brilliantly machined and very very sharp to boot, they should start selling them to Canon to save them having to make them!

Sorry to hear you got ripped off with the bag, hope Ebay sorts it out for you.

We just got back from Hong Kong & Philippines and even I (pretty used to seeing fakes all around Asia) was amazed at how good the counterfeit products are becoming recently - really had to look closely:

Gitzo tripods for £75.... including a ballhead
Crumpler backpacks for £30 - looked identical but material was not thick enough
Lowepro lens cases
Canon G11 cameras for £180 - bait and switch setup with shrinkwrapped "Canon Sealed" packaging
Canon remote flash triggers (Phottix style with Canon logo) :shake:
Nokia E71 phones
Sony cordless headphones
Sennheiser earphones
Apple iPhones for £90 - in white. Really looked genuine, but the yellow and red versions gave it away
iPod Nano - almost impossible to tell, except the plastic box was square and not curved
D&G handbags - in a proper retail store, we were almost convinced but one on the rack had the logo upside down
Marmot fleece jackets
Lowe Alpine & Berghaus backpacks
Merrell sandals and shoes - brilliant copies, but label said "Made in England" :bonk:
Levis jeans - being hawked from the back of an old pickup truck with a wooden sign that said "Levi Authorised Reseller" - wish I'd had my camera with me!
Samsonite and Antler luggage
Bosch power tools - pretty much every street vendor has them
Stanley screwdriver sets

There was even a Hong Kong market stall totally dedicated to fake badges: Bose, Alpine, Sony, JBL, Loewe, Bang & Olufsen, Infinty etc... my favorite being the fake Sanyo badges

I got my money back through Paypal this morning anyway

Great news

But honestly, having travelled Asia extensively the last 10yrs, I was astounded at the quality of the fakes this year - really difficult to tell in person, let alone on the internet.

It's such a shame as there are still honest traders there, luckily I found a group of local togs who pointed me in the right direction, but the honest stores are becoming harder to find, especialy for electronic stuff.

Just glad you got sorted :)

Wow, that's quite a list! The bag i bought looked really good, it was only after i noticed the stitching starting to give that i found out it was fake.

Good result. Thanks for the heads up. I just bought one via Amazon (Adorama) in the USA instead of going the Ebay route for very little more than they were wanting for the fake on ebay

Was there not a news story a few years ago about fake Ferrari cars in china.

I have 2 Domke bags made in U.S.A. Prejudice aside I wonder how much actual difference in quality there is between them and the Chinese ones.
