Anyone any idea if they are active yet and if so best time of day and area to see them. I got a couple of pics last year but the wife is desperate to see one so planning a trip over the weekend.

Alternatively any suggest any other gods places around the Doncaster area to see this beautiful birds?

Thanks

Jd

I have been there on monday, and have seen shot taken that morning... I'm hoping to go on sunday morning to try spot them.

unfortunatly I didnt get over :(.
I do hope you had luck on monday

Postponed due to brother in law and his Mrs having their baby and getting dragged along to do baby shots. Will get this week at some time

Was there on sunday, had a 45 min stand at the wall, but no sign... The water was high though and quite rough.

Hi Steve was there weekend before and saw the backend 3 times going left to right at top end of the stream but too. Fast for me got a cracking view of a jay on the pipe mind so a good trip

Out of interest, where is the best place to view them, is it behind the wooden screen (with the cut out's in), or is there a better location ?

As far as i know, that is the best place, i have friends whi have tog'd them there... But I'm thinking while the water is high and rough the kingfishers prefer it on the corner juat out of sight.

Kingfishers about today, not on the kingfisher screen side, but out in front of the Pick up hide. Hubble telescope distance though.lol
