Hi All,

I am getting pretty frustrated currently with the Facebook plugin for Wordpress for my website. The two main things I want as a result are:

1. Like button for posts
2. Comments box synched with Facebook

After getting the Facebook plugin I need to input the App ID and the App secret codes. To get those I need to create an app on Facebook do I not? I don't know! Anyway, I have created one, but have little clue as to what I'm doing - the tutorial takes you through a long convoluted process of going through the heroku website who host the app, and I'm thinking it has to be easier than this. I don't want any fancy Facebook app - just integration with my Facebook page for the business.

Am I taking the wrong approach?
 
I've got the likes working on a test wordpress installation:

Registered as a facebook developer
create a new app
(didnt bother with the heroku hosting)
installed plug in
C&p'd app secret and ID into wordpress facebook plug in
Ticked 'home' 'post' and 'page' under 'show on'
ticked 'after post' in 'position'
Have now got like buttons after every post

Thanks Jez....I read around a bit and realised I didn't need to do the whole heroku hosting thing and it was actually very easy as you alluded to. I think things could have been a bit better explained for novices such as me! All integrated now though!

No worries, learnt something new myself, never used facebook with wordpress before
