I just got a 24 hours FB ban for posting a picture that 'doesn't meet the community guidelines. I posted the pic in 2015!
 
You can appeal and have it turned over I believe. Never been banned myself and on there since 2010 or so, but a few of my contacts have been given wee holiers every now and then. They either just make a new profile or wait it out, they just like trolling though. My Dad who is 71 was given a 3 day ban slagging off Trump :ROFLMAO:
 
Second time it's happened in a month for me, How can they 'ban me' retrospectively for something that was ok to post 6 years ago.

FB don't have a sense of humour. I tried their moderation but no joy.
It was the same with this (but I've heard FB may have relented recently) which I put up to see how long it would stay:

I tried posting that and so did some friends, all with the same result. That's fine though, being able to post a picture and having them decide years later it's not suitable is also fine but banning the poster for it is daft.
Tried to appeal but apparently due to covid there are no reviewers available. Plenty available to pick out pictures they don't like though.

Fairly sure the software is what 'finds' your dodgy pictures, and it needs ahuman reviewer to over-ride.
 
Whadyaknow. I comment on a thread about facebook and now I just got an e-mail from facebook saying how long it's been since I logged onto facebook.

Maybe one of your friends or somebody else, has only now seen it and reported it.

They must have new staff, :D
A men only group I'm on is reporting recent bans for images going back to 2013.
And mostly for jokes that were found on FB in the first place.

If people are going to go back in time and re-judge things with modern sensibilities I bet Bernard Manning is glad he's dead!
 
Twitter is just as bad. I lasted six months and then got thrown off because I said no human in history has ever changed sex, and human males should never be able to compete in female sports. Apparently nowadays, facts and science are less important than ideologies.

Interesting because I know someone who was banned for posting a photo of a cat that looks like Hitler in that year. The workers at Facebook must be bored and banning people for stupid things
