I'm not much of a one for 'puter games - low boredom threshold. Jan is though and she's presently playing F.E.A.R.

What a great game - great graphics, eerie and atmospheric, with very satisfying levels of blood snot and gore. :D

Really jumpy and creepy in places!
 
I've played through both it and the expansion, but was a bit underwhelmed by both.
Really quite a shiny game, but I don't think it'll age too well.
I shan't be bothering with Perseus Mandate :)
 
Played the demo and that was enough for me, looks pretty, wasn't taken by the gameplay...
 
Ah well - you hardcore gamers will be hard to please. ;)

So what's good then?

I still enjoy Doom :D
 
I still like a good game of Solitaire, or 4 suit spider solitaire if I'm feeling particularly clever (and I am).
 
I still dont think you can beat the tension of playing as a marine in Alien vs Predator 2. Scared the crap out of me.

You can play as alien, predator or marine.

If your a major gamer though, Crysis or Bioshock are the ones to look out for (but you probably already knew that).
 
Gimme some HL2 or some Quake 3 / UT2004 any day. It's all about playing other people and not the computer!

Or something slightly different, play some supreme commander. Awsome RTS.
 
I just loaded up the original Half Life last week, great game :)
 
Played FEAR was underwhelmed. I expected more.
Half life and Half Life2 are IMHO better games

SystemShock (the original) was outstanding for it's time. I ended up playing it twice as my hard drive died :shrug:
Syestem Shock2 was also pretty damn good and involving.

Castle Wolfenstien many years before that held my interest.

I could go on and on and on ... and on ... and on..

About the only thing that'll run half decently on my pc (and that's with everything turned down lol!)
 
call of duty 2, battlefield 2 and battlefield 2142 for me, great online games. oh and abit of trackmania united :)
 
Best Multiplayer FPS (first person shooter - FEAR, HL2 etc) has to Battlefield 2. It kicks the ass out of anything else I've played.

You get "ranked" servers where the points you gain go towards promotion, awards and medals. Online Stats and leaderboards :thumbs:

Do you get the feeling I'm a big gamer :help:

But be warned it will damage your social life.
 
I loved it! Really well done I thought. I have come to the point where there just isn't many games with a good story line but some games that are just good enough to be pick up and play and I felt FEAR was one of them.

Also the girl reminded me of the grudge and I hate that film coz its scary as """" so I just had to play on.
 
I'm playing quite a bit of supreme commander at the moment, and some neverwinter nights 2 on the side. Supreme commander is great. Like any RTS the top players have the open game down to a regurgitated tee, but after that even the very best players have to keep their wits about them and constantly re-evaluate short / long term tactics. Quite a bit like chess in that respect.
Looking forward to the SHTUP beta 6 (retexturing project for system shock 2) and Bioshock later in the month :thumbs:
 
Unreal tournaments series - great stress relief when you get home from a crap day at work!!!

Just frag the hell out of every thing that moves!!!:woot:

I quite enjoyed playing FEAR in a dark room with headphones on, very spooky. But all I play these days is COD2, and hopefully COD4 in November if it proves to be any good.

Ahhh I have UT reinstalled on my machine. Installed it last month for a bit of nostalgic gaming. Played it for an hour and then forgot it was on there....still....it was a fun hour...(And I still got the instagib magic :D)
 
Yeah UT is always great for when you just want to run around like a nutter and shoot everything :D
