Extra Flash

Hi,
I have a 430 ex2 and a St-e2 and am looking for a cheap extra flash to use alongside the canon. Can only Canon flashes be triggered by the st-e2?
Or can another flash be triggered by the 430? Confused!

Hi Steve,

I know the Metz 48-AF will fire from the ST-E2 'cos I've got one here to go along with my 430's... For the extra £30 though, you'd probably be better off buying another 430EXII.

I got my Metz quite cheaply and although it's very good and does work with the ST-E2/7D onboard commander, it'll only work in E-TTL mode when it's set to slave.

Just about any flash will fire off a Canon master unit (eg ST-E2) as a slave, even the cheapest ones.
