External Battery Pack for Speedlite Flash

From the website you posted:

"The JJC FB-1 is a high quality, low cost replacement for the Canon CP-E4 compact battery pack. It reduces the recycling time between flashes to a third of the original time as well as increasing the number of flashes three fold. The pack has a tripod screw so that it can be screwed into the tripod thread of the camera."

sorry Mr Gibbs - should have used the search function too:bonk:, lots of old posts the adequately cover the question as well - I will try to remember next time.

I've never used one of those battery packs, but I've thought about it. I'm sure they work well. Slow recycling with hot-shoe flashes is a major pain.

I usually get round it by simply increasing the ISO and turning the flash down. Switching to half or quarter power makes a dramatic difference. Now I have a 5D2 and can shoot at ISO800 with superb quality, I can't see myself ever needing one.

It's not a perfect solution, but it works pretty well for me.
