Hi Guys

I've got a canon 580ex2 and a nissin di 866 that I need to get running on external battery packs for some strobist type shoots. Can anyone recommend a decent / reliable external battery pack that won't break the bank?

Ideally I'd prefer a rechargeable unit, but AA's arent a problem as long as the voltage output is stable and the recycle time is less than 2 secs at full power for at least 10 shots in succession.

Both ports on the flashes look the same so I'm presuming a battery pack for a canon will also run the nissin, but clarification would be nice

Cheers

I have the Canon CP-E4 battery pack.......but that's just me.........it would suit your needs, takes 8 AA rechargeables. There are aftermarket packs and if I was looking to buy a non Canon one it would be the Pixel model. There are others but make sure they take 8 batts and not 6.

I'm not suggesting you buy from this listing but this is the Pixel item

Godox PB 820 at around £160 would be my choice, and yup the Nissin & Canon sockets are exactly the same.

I have a canon original and also a second party model... The trays are interchangeable.

I bought some spare trays from Zebra in the states...

Cheers guys, some great links to go looking at...... need to find someone with an ebay account now :naughty:
