Does anybody have any experience of the Pentax K10D? I used to have a film pentax and loved it, and am looking at getting the K10D but thought i would check if anybody has had any particularly bad experience with it??

Cheers in advance.
Phil

It's a very well regarded camera, but doesn't QUITE have the range of lenses available compared to Canon/Nikon. Not necessarily a problem, but worth considering.

Cheers,
James

Have absolutely no relevant experience of the K10D but it seems good.

Must agree with the comment on range of lenses, unless you own some good old film Pentax stuff already. They will mostly work manual of course...

The *IST XX Series were very plasticky and cheap in feel and appearance but they are definitely not bad, and so would imagine the K10D should be better:shrug:

If you do not own some Pentax glass I would say rather go Canon or Nikon - and I still have two K-1000s!

HTH!

I've just bought one - though it's the Samsung clone - and I'm delighted. RAW images are great. The handling is really good even though it's chunky. It feels like a real camera. Anti-shake works well. Weatherproofing kept me unstressed during a woodland downpour. It's no beginners camera but that's the fun part. And it will take Pentax lenses so I'll be looking for some second hand glass when I've paid for it.

Sounds like a good deal then all in all!
Big expensive kit doth not a good photographer make....

But it is nice to own some - Jokes aside - it is important IMHO to like and feel confident with your kit.

And WELCOME TO TPF BOTH OF YOU!!

Looking forward to seeing some images off that Samsung of yours, Royo!
