I recently decided that it made sense for me to have two identical bodies, so I ordered a new Canon R5 from Norwich Cameras (another grey importer) for the price of a second hand one from eBay etc.

The camera arrived 5 days after ordering, and is now registered happily with Canon.

Screen protectors and my trusty Op/Tech strap attached to the new body, the next challenge was copying all my settings over from my older body....with re-assigned buttons, custom AF settings and three quite specific shooting modes saved to the 3 'custom' slots, I wasn't looking forward to this.

Having just set up a new iPhone for my wife I did wonder if there was something similar to easily port settings from one camera to another....and low and behold there is - thank you Internet!

Probably not news to many here, but for those who don't know, you can copy one Canon cameras settings to an SD card, and then pop the card in to another (compatible) body and load the settings.

Oh yes its a handy feature, I copied to a card when I sent my R5 to Canon , was easy to reload settings back on when i got my camera back
