I have a problems photography my children indoors, as the is everyday clutter like sofas chairs tv etc get in the way, i don't always want the studio look!

Now i'm very new and find the techno speak hard to understand lol so can you explain like your talking to a 3 yr old Ha ha :help:

You could try throwing the background out of focus and blur the clutter to make it less obvious.

To do that you need to open up the aperture nice and wide (otherwise known as the f/number) and set it to the smallest number that your lens is capable of, if you're using a kit lens it'll probably be around f/3.5 to f/5.6 depending on your exact lens and focal length.
Keep in mind that a wide aperture = small f/number and a narrow aperture = large f/number.

That would give you a nice narrow or thin depth of field (the 'slice' in the frame that is in focus). The problem is with a narrow depth of field is to keep something moving around a lot in focus but that's half the fun :)
 
Duct tape solves everything. The kids may not like it but it keeps them secure and out the way! ;)
 
Beach, park, woods, fields, anywhere that they can be natural, then just happysnap,
delete what you do not like.
