Yes
Russia? It was rubbish!

I was up for Latvia winning, or even Ukraine...both were much more fun.

Once again, the British entry gets us no-where...I wonder whether we'll stop entering soon, as there seems little point any more.

Still, a good evening's worth of entertainment!

Cheers,
James

Not that I voted, but if I did, it would have gone to the country with the hottest girl in the performance :D

Yes, that really is how much I care about it :D

We will start scoring when we stop sending karaoke singers and get some real singers.

Just because you have been on a TV talent show does not mean you have talent.

Well I vote for terry wogan every year but he never seems to win it!

The contest has not really been about the music for years, when did a 'good' song last come out of the competition? I saw some of it last night (not sure anyone could sit through all of it) and I thought the UK song was so so, underperformed and typical of the crap that's written for eurovision here, but still better than some of the absolute garbage that got lots more votes.

I suppose, while it was pretty dire all round, it's understandable that some songs from eastern europe get more votes from there, they are more tuned to the ears of those people which means it's hard for any other country to get enough votes to win. Some voting surprised me, bosnia giving serbia full marks for example, I would not have thought there was any love lost there.

Nope, we will start winning when we are not in the pockets of the yanks, join the euro, pull troops out if Iraq and start wiping the butts of other European nations.

A politically popular nation could have someone stand on stage in silence and still get more points than the UK because nobody likes us.

It had nothing to do with us having a black singer then? I thought that that might lose us some points with some of the more eastern European nations....

Agree with all this, one thing bothers me enormously; what were we thinking of giving the Pirates 10 points?

I reccon it's all run by the Russian Mafia anyway - Terry Wogan is obviously their leader and has secretly been infiltrating the BBC for years...

Just my thoughts... :suspect:

Quite a lot of stuff to do just to win some god awfull competetion though :p

really dissapointing set of songs this year, last year there were a couple of good ones but nothing this year.

I'm surprised the swedish entry didn't do better than it did.

meh, I think Wogan sounded really deflated and flat at the end like he'd given up. If he doesn't commentate what the point in watching?

there is some real dodgy voting, but what you also need to realise is the Russian guy is a big big star in all the countries that border it. And even more so, the guy doing the skating is a massive star in those countries too.
but also, the bordering countries are also full of Russians so they vote for their own country.
Although its not really my thing I actually thought the Russian song was one of the better ones.

i got the feeling Wogan had had enough, though.. anyone else get that feeling?

I started to type this exact post this morning but deleted it. I 100% agree, eurovision is more about the politics rather than the music /talent, that's why the neighbours always seem to vote for each other, latvia and serbia etc, i bet we got 10 points from Ireland didn't we? (i may be wrong - i have no idea)
