Yes
I've never done a 52 before but have been looking at everyone's efforts over the last few months of 2010. I was waiting for January 2011 to get started and I have even convinced my girlfriend to join in despite never really having an interest in photography. She is off to India in April; so has a bit of motivation to get her started :) Therefore this will be a joint/duel photo thread.

Firstly i'm not only aiming to stick to the rules here, but to allow myself a full creative tool set. This will mean I might be using my camera phone, point-and-shoot, film or SLR, or even going down the HDR (cough cough), Photoshop, editing software route. In all I hope to be better at saying "look what I can do!" by the end of 2011.

My second aim is to to arouse a photography interest within my girlfriend. So much so, that she might look at upgrading to something like GF1 at some point.

I wish everyone the best of luck and hope that both me, and the lovely girlfriend, can keep coming up with something creative each week. I'm a bit worried about the other half maintaining a continued interest, but here we go:

Week 1 - Accommodation
Week 2 - New

Week 1 - Accommodation (ERU)
The following is a hut above the G'day level - Australia sector, Dinorwig Slate Quarries, North Wales. I cheated a little as I missed the first week due to starting late. I was fascinated to walk about this often dangerous area and find relics from the past that seemed to be dumped there on the last shift at the quarry. I'm sure this accommodation would have been a welcome sight when the wild Welsh weather closed in around.

Week 1 - Accommodation (Girlfriend)
Her first attempt and the following are her own words! She said she knows it's a bit wonky. "This is the forced accommodation for the exotic birds at Kenilworth castle, Warwickshire. Accommodation is so often not a choice!"

Good shot of the quarry hut. Love the girlfriend's take on accommodation and her very true statement!

As parkmoy said, sorry to be brief, looking forward to the rest of your year.

Firstly week 1 by you (ERU) I love the bright Aqua tones that are portrayed behind the quarry building. The colour of the grass and trees are really natural and show the current season rather than being to brash or green.

Secondly your girlfriends photo has such a meaningful message to it , its quite upsetting to think that accommodation is often not a choice. I would of liked to have seen the birds in the back a little more in focus but feel that having them in a total blur works for this shot as it gives a sense that the birds are trapped.

Looking forward to the rest of your photo52, best of luck to you both !

P.S I can't view week 2
