I have finally had no choice but to pension of my old Epson XP-900 printer. It survived to a ripe old age (certainly more than 10 years) but recently has been making lots of noise like cogs not meshing correctly. The old girl has been a stalwart member of the family, producing tens of thousands of prints for my wife's craft business and many hundred prints from my photographs.

Whilst looking around for a suitable replacement I nearly succumbed to one of Epson's ink tank models - the ET-8550 was very tempting - but the prices are beyond my budget, sadly. So instead I settled on the XP-970 which, to all intents and purposes, is a newer version of the 900. One improvement that strikes me immediately is that the 970 uses six inks instead of the five of the 900. Straight out of the box the results are quite impressive and, hopefully, by the time I have some icc profiles they will be even better.

Once I'm happy it isn't going to fail in some way I'll be buying a CISS for it and a set of Epson 107 ink tank inks for it.
This one feels like it may be a male, so the Queen is dead ... long live the King

PS: If anyone has an XP-900 and would like a CISS and inks for it drop me a DM (y)

same as me. Ihad the XP-960 for many years, when it packed up eventually I also got the XP-970 as it takes the same ink carts
