It's OK. Not brilliant, not the best photo printer but fine for general use.
I had a Canon 9600 and then a Canon i965 which were very good providing you used the rather overpriced genuine Canon inks. I also had a Canon flat bed scanner which was great until I moved onto Windows 7... of course there were no drivers available for that.
I long ago came to the conclusion that if I wanted anything special (photo's of course) printing I was better getting it done professionally.
The Epson stylus SX425W is great printer for general use and it has a scanner as well at about half the price of another flat bed scanner. Unless you want to print top quality photo prints I'd go for it.
