I have had my Epson R2880 for about 13 months now and its probably only printed in the region of 100 A4 Photos.

I can go for 2 weeks at any time without printing and then when I want to print, I am spending about 20 minutes doing head cleans.

Has anyone else experienced this with the R2880?

ink drys in the heads - you are cheaper printing out something every few days on plain paper as head cleans use a **** load of ink lol

Same problem with the Epson R2400,been converted to use permajet inks, head cleaning is the worst way to go,just drinks ink, just print something small every couple of weeks or so

I used to have the same problem when I had an epson.
I created a text document with the word Test repeated in several colours and just printed that every couple of days.

My Epson 1290 always had similar problems when I left it for such periods. I have cured the problem by leaving the printer plugged in, switched through a 7-day timer, which switches it on once a week. On start-up, the printer goes through a short cleaning cycle - that seems to keep things fluid; it is a long time since I had real head-cleaning problems, even after 7 weeks away.
