Hi All,

wondering if anyone can help with an issue I have. I just got a secondhand epson printer R2400 off the internet with CIS. No nozzles are blocked and the inks feed into the correct cartridge, but my colours are waay off where they should be. I now have a calibrated monitor, and also tried a spyder3print - and this has actually made things slightly worse. When I print the sample patches from the spyder3print program (no icm enabled), the greens are actually showing as blue!!

I have tried printing from the following programs -
Windows 7 photo viewer
Gimp
Epson easy photo print
Digikam

I have tried all the above programs with colour management either controlled by the program itself, or the Epson driver only. I have read lots of material on the subject, but just cannot seem to find the magic option to get it all working.

What am I doing wrong!!! It's driving me crazy. Can someone show me a walkthrough of what to do or suggest some settings to try??

Any help most gratefully appreciated :bonk:

EDIT: Oops - think I've put this in the wrong place sorry. Is it possible to move it to a more appropriate location?

Welcome to the forum.

You may wish to try manually adjusting your levels of cyan, magenta and yellow if all else fails. Just keep printing the same image, and tweaking the levels.

On another note: using 'non-official' inks will produce colours that are way off in my experience.

I would tend to agree with David. My first thought would be an incomparability between the printer, paper and ink. If your greens are showing as blue, I doubt if any correction could pull that back.

I know you've said the inks are going to the correct carts, but check that the carts are in the correct location. Wrong location should send an alarm to the printer's control panel, but it may be the CIS system has overridden this.

The only other options I can think of is to

a/replace the CIS with known good carts ( Epson ) and see if this improves things

b/ Flush the CIS inks and refill with known inks from a reliable source
