Personally I wouldn't.
I have the 3800 for producing client work, competition prints, and exhibition prints and I don't want to stuff it on something like a DVD label. Epson 38xx models don't have a DVD tray and having had other laser and inkjet printers in the past get clogged and damaged with sticky labels, I'd hate to write off £1k of printer.
I use a basic printer with a DVD tray to print my DVDs something like a Canon ip4950 (I used an ip4200 and now an MX-850 which does my scanning/copying as well) - around £50 which is about what the ink inside it costs and if you are just printing DVDs will last you a decent amount of time. Quality is absolutely fine.
