Canon user pondering new camera upgrade
I have 3 Canon Bodies which i intend selling and upgrading to a new body preferably mirrorless which are obviously a lot smaller
must add i want to keep my Canon lenses and was thinking the new Sony A7C looks like a smart bit of kit...

can you nice folks enlighten me as to how the autofocus would stack up in comparison with canon eos r V Sony using my own Canon lenses and what adapters would be needed etc

must add i also have 3 canon flashes and pocket wizards so the obvious choice is the Eos R but the reviews for this new Sony look amazing

just cant seem to make my mind up even was considering the Fuji Xt-4 but was reading quite some lag with autofocus with adapters using canon lenses which is not what i want
decisions decisions

must add video is of very little interest to me mainly looking for improvement in low light from my 53d3 but want to be spending under 2 grand

Hi there Chris

don't think that going mirrorless full frame will save on weight or space

if low light and fast AF is important to you then the R6 would seem worth busting the budget a little

Out of the options I’d personally stick with Canon as I can imagine the A7c will fell unbalanced with adapted lenses. The A7c also lacks a front control dial and had a relatively low resolution EVF.

My experience with Canon EF lenses adapted for (in my case) Sony A7Rii is not great. They work, but are slower and hunt a lot more than on Canon. I had an EOS RP on loan for a weekend and it's way quicker with EF lenses on the Canon adaptor.

Depends what lenses you have and how attached to them you feel! The short test I had with the RP showed that the EF lenses are just as fast to AF on that as they are on my 6D, and I would expect the R, R5 and R6 all to be better than the RP. The full-frame Sony lenses are as big, heavy and expensive as Canon full-frame lenses, so you won't gain much in that regard changing over to the A7C.
