Can anyone help me?
I have an EOS 5 film camera and I want to calibrate the ECF but each time I press the shutter release in CAL mode it bleeps continuosly and refuses to verify it understood my eye position (right hand AF point) and move to the left hand AF point. I have followed the manual exactly but still no joy. I have calibrated my 50E in the same way and it worked fine. Any clues? Is the ECF Calibration system up the swanny?

Sorry mate, can't help. I used to own an EOS 3 which also had the eye control. I didn't have any problems with it. Hopefully this bump will catch the attention of someone who can help ;)

My EOS 3 did the samething - i just kept tryng and it finally got it sorted after about 20 attempts.

In the fairly short time I had a EOS 5, The eye-control focusing worked pretty much spot on, calibrated first time using the instructions in the manual. Sadly, one day I took the camera out of the bag one morning, and it'd died in it's sleep. So, I swapped to a EOS 3 which is working like a good-un. Can't really offer any suggestions as to what may be going wrong tbh, just a confirmation that it's normally quite a painless process.

Are you a specs wearer? If so perhaps try it without specs until you get a calbration, then re-run calibration with your specs.

Have to say my EOS 3 works great even wearng specs so good luck. It seems the more often you run the calibration procedure the more accurate it gets.

Can you delete any current cal settings befoe you start?
