Hello all.

While in Florida, I visited a local car show, while taking photos in good light, the camera excelled, but as the parade started it was dark and the flash had to be used.

After a few shots, the camera would show 'Busy' and the flash symbol next to it, is this the flash getting a little too hot?

I can't find my manual, hence the question on here.

Thanks in advance.

David

It's probably your battery getting a little low and thus taking longer to charge the flash.

It may help if you use a fresh battery when switching to using flash.

On my 400d i find if you use the flash a few times in quick sucession it will need a few seconds to re-charge the flash. AFAIK this is the norm

Ah i see, i never thought of it actually having to supply power to the flash. Silly me.

The battery was full, but i was taking a lot of pics in quick succession.

Would a standalone flash quash this issue as it would be self powered?

It may help, and, in terms of flash output it will be a vast improvement. The recycling times depend on the batteries still though.

its simply the flash being charged up again to take another shot. nothing to worry about - still annoying though.
