Hi Everyone,

Since moving to Digital my EOS film bodies have sat doing nothing. I've got an EOS 1n HS and an EOS 5.

I'm tempted to sell them, but wont get anywhere near what they cost me. Are they more valuable to hold on to in the long term?

The 1n is an stonking camera and I felt the drop in build quality (feel etc) when I bought the 30D. So I'm loathed to part with it, but my head says, will I actually ever use it again?

Are there many film/slide buffs still out there?

How long will film processing be available? I wouldn't think there is too much demand for it now.

I'm afraid you'll never get anywhere near what you paid for them back. So it's just a matter of whether you want to keep them or not.

rickj, I think you've persuaded me!

Might as well try and get something for them, a lens or cash towards a lens I can get use of is better than kit lying around that I'll never use again.

Cheers,
Andy

or you could buy some film

Keep them.
Or keep at least one.

Keep your favourite ;)
You want to have something to pass down generations.

Your great great great great grandchildren will look at the digital slr you're using in 2200 and be all like, "No way... they actually used these things?!"
and then they'll look at the film slr and laugh with pity.

I do find it interesting how quickly we all give up quality in the name of speed and convenience.

I'd personally keep hold of one body, if for no other reason than having a spare body and the choice of an alternative media.

I agree with dazzajl, I'm keeping at least one of mine, probably the 1N as I don't think I need the HS facility.
