Yes
I feel a bit of a prat asking this, but I come from the digital age.

Is it OK to just change a lens on a 35mm film camera?

Yes, its fine. The internal body around the shutter etc should be light sealed and just like a digital, be sensible, dont change in a very dusty environment if you can avoid it.

oh and not an embarrassing question at all, if you have never used film before, it makes sense to wonder if its ok.

I thought there were some MF cameras where you have to put a dark slide in before changing the lens? maybe something to do with leaf shutters? But I know narthing...

I think that's the Fuji GL690 which had a darkslide for changing lenses, possibly amongst others.

on some medium format camera's the shutter is in the lens, but a 35mm it should be fine :)

I had a big black MF camera...it was bad!!

Hi all, thanks for your responses, and advice.
