Recently started using windows mail on new pc and note that incoming emails can be up to 30 mins delayed compared to receiving on iphone, which is instantly. This is using the two devices at the same location. Any ideas how to fix the delay?

Is it pulling email every 30 min or is the server pushing out email?

Who is the provider?

Sorry not understanding what you mean, but if I send an email to someone else, they receive it immediately. It shows straight away in my sent items on the pc. If I send an email to myself, it appears on my iphone immediately, but does not show on my pc windows mail for 20 to 30 mins. In coming mail on my pc sometimes arrives in a group of 3 or more at a time.

Options > Mail options > General tab > Under send and receive messages make sure there is a tick marl next to "Check for new messages every" and then select how long you want the interval to be in minutes

Then click on apply and then OK > re-start mail client

Keith, I had already checked that and have rechecked and they are set to arrive immediately.

Fortunately I still have my old pc as I am transferring files and note on sending another test email to myself, on my old pc it arrives instantly viewing the AOL desktop.
I have just received another four emails on new pc with up to 30 mins delay:thinking:

Is one PC connecting by imap and the other by pop3?

Hi Dale, I have now opened on my new pc my AOL mail through IE, and this receives this messages instantly. So as they are both working from the same pc, does this not mean there is an issue with the windows app?

Webmail is just a web interface to your ISP mail so yes it will display instantly. It doesn't mean there is an issue with the mail software.

As dale said what protocol are you using, you should've set this when you set the mail program up.
