I quite like it, reminds me of the nice simple early days of Facebook, less disposable than Twitter and with just enough substance

me: https://ello.co/colda

anyone else using it?

I applied for an invite a while back, but tbh I am a bit bored of signing up to the "new" social media thing only to have it go no where and just end up getting random emails from it now and again.

Might be nice if it works, but I guess only time will tell.

Don't do Facetwat or anything else of that ilk. Just TP and one other Forum. Don't want folk from my past I can't be arsed with nosing in about my life, have no interest in making friends or sharing my business with with clowns I don't give a toss about. So, i doubt I'll be using this.

Just what the world needs…..

They should amalgamate them all.

Probably go the same way as Google+. Who actually still interact with each other in there? Even though it's now "tied" to Youtube so we have basically been forced to sign up on that anyway. Although I still get all dewy eyed with nostalgia every time I think of Bebo, Myspace, Friendsreunited and of course, the amazing Microsoft Chat V2.5 that came with Windows 98.

Wasn't MS Chat wound up partly as a result about concerns of "grooming" in chat rooms. I seem to remember an awful lot of fuss about it back in about 2004 - 2005. Ironic that it was succeeded by the likes Facebook, etc and the concerns about grooming, bullying, etc have not gone away.

And if the stories are to be believed its actually got worse ;)

I actually really like social media I find it to be a wonderful part of life...Facebook for me is a place for communication, it's a place for me to share what's going on in myself to a certain degree (not everything) but I do post every day, it's a place to reconnect with people from my past and it's a place for me to a bit of a laugh and a joke...

I'll be honest I done really understand this Ello, I find it a little hard navigate right now it all feels very under developed, maybe that will change over time, if it does I'll probably join but I don't know
