Elinchrom Deep Octa on Bowens Head

Nice one :)

How have you found the deep octa?

I'm gonna be looking for another Elinchrom modifier soon, I was going to be buying one this week but bought a 17-55 2.8 instead.

Toss up between the 100cm/135cm Octas and the 100cm deep octa, my only concern is how far I'd have to back up the deep octa for full length shots. Any chance you could do a test for me?

Excellent! Could you maybe use locktite to avoid the rotation issue? That would kind of commit you to Bowens fit.

Love this quote.

I like a challenge and have power tools to hand

Yeah a good glue might well be the answer to that.

Hi,

Following on from Lloyd Stretton's fine work, I too have successfully converted an Elinchrom Deep Octa for my Bowens lights. I photographed the process as I went along and have written a thorough How-To guide:

The replacement S-fit ring can be held tight by filing down the metal clamp inside the speedring. I also adapted the translucide deflector so that it can still be used (the Bowens lights do not have the appropriate fitting.)

Hope this helps!
