I need some advice please, can this unit be used to power D-lite 2 heads? Obviously the cables are going to be different but I wonder if the 404 is too powerful for them.

Thank you

No, The 404 pack is a complete power pack on its own, you need to use the dedicated lights designed for it. I can't remember what they're called, but check with The Flash Centre, and they'll be able to help.

Thank you Treeman.

As partially mentioned the 404 is a powerpack designed for use with Elinchrom A or S heads, it's max output is 4000 joules so if paired with a S4000 head would be x20 as powerful or about 4 1/3ish stops greater than a D- lite 2
It will power up to 3 heads splitting the power equally irrespective of the maximum power handling of each head. (though I have vague memories that if yo mixed A & S hads it altered the power split somehow)
One thing to remember with older packs such as this is when you switch them on irrespective of the power level set the 1st flash is always at full power so you must have heads plugged in & switched on of sufficient total power rating to handle this, otherwise ther will be a loud bang & you'll need some new flash tubes.

As a side note though Bowens heads & packs & other makes use the same plugs & sockets as Elinchrom they are not normally interchangable as each manufacturer had its own connection/pin layout.
