Elephant Poaching

I will never accept nor justify
the poachers activities… shame!

It is interesting if you read the possible solutions, including controlled hunting to provide money for conservation and the local community and also selling off the large stockpile of ivory in Africa to finance conservation, through to controlled culling for safety and economic reasons. The Elephant population in Namibia has increased through what they are doing.
It is a complicated problem, local people's needs, hunting, conservation through to educating the world, China in particular, that needs to be tackled on a number of fronts, but as with many things these days, it's all about money on both sides.

More and more Rangers, (I've spoken to some and from what I have read), now think trophy hunting is part of conservation providing that it is controlled.
