I think its time to move away from the freebies, visited my local Costco today and they have a couple of softwares on sale, the Elements 7 (£45.99) and the Coral paint shop pro (£54.04) both include VAT, I may get them cheaper on line but I prefare the old method, to handle the goods and pay cash,
My question is, is one better than the other for the hoby photographer as I am still just getting into editing?:thinking:

Elements is used by far more photographers than Corel so you would find much more helpful advice for it here and in the mags than you will ever get for Corel, which, in my experience doesn't cut it.

Thanks for that, looking back at some mags I bought over the last week or so, I see your piont, thanks again.

£45.99 seems a very good price for Elements 7, you'd struggle to beat that online.

Agreed mine cost about £68ish at Xmas time, i've had paint shop pro x2 on my PC since last year, i got it online on some super duper deal for about £18 direct from corel, anyway i've never used it, but by all accounts it is supposed to be very good and a lot easier to use than photoshop, maybe i will get around to it one day

I agree that this price is good, I paid much more from Amazon and I thought I had a good deal.
Photoshop is supported more here and in the mags, the free DVD's from the mags include Photoshop instructions and demonstations, I havent seen anything like that for Corel.
Having used Photoshop for many years, its proved to do all I want and much more, the full version is pretty well the industry standard.
