Elements 8

Did they skip Elements 7 for Mac?

Blimey it doesn't seem so long since they released version 7!

b****r, i have only just bought Elements 6 for Mac!!!!!! grrrr I hope they let me upgrade for a few quid!

Don't think you can get the upgrade discount from one version of elements to another version of elements onyl from elements to CS.

I'm talking out my arse it seems you can upgrade from elements to elements but it seems the weak pound has struck again.

Not seen what's new in it yet, to be honest if your not using it constant, or for work i don't see the point in upgrading Elements every year, unless of course you have money to throw at it, as i'm sure the upgrade is minimal, just my thoughts though :)

For better or worse, us Mac users only seem to get alternate releases anyway!

Sadly the upgrade cost is not far off the price of simply buying the full product. Seems a con, but Elements is still a bargain compared to shelling out for its big brother.

There are a few movies on youtube showing the new version and to be honest i'm not going to bother as theres nothing new i need, they have just seemed to have moved things to different locations. One thing that it does which i have seen for CS5 is squashing photo height and width!

If anyone actually gets this version can they let me know if script writer works with it please. No reason why it shouldn't but it would be nice to know.

Remember if you have kids taking GCSE art OR in college or uni you can get Photoshop for £135 so its not much of a jump cost wise in those situations.

My daughter has just started her degree in art so thats CS 5,6 & 7 sorted

I have actually missed out getting the full CS4 suite due to the lack of interest in most of the additions in the OTHER packages. I have CS3 design suite which cost £229 then got LR2 & CS4 Photoshop for £179 (it was a special special deal).

Lightroom is £79 for students.

Hoping they will stick LR3 and CS5 together for a good price when they come out, probably next year.

Oooo whilst checking the prices with my educational supplier to pop in the post i've just noticed that they are giving discounts for students on Wacom stuff too. Bamboo £45, Wacom Introus4 starting at £135 !!

Looks like Windows users can download a trial now.
