Elements 6 or 9?

Ive been given a copy of Elements 6, it'll be my first venture into this level of image editing, previous experience restricted to Picasa!
Before I download though it Im wondering If I should just go straight for the version 9 of Elements?

Are there any major benefits/added features offered by Elements 9 over Elements 6.
Hope someone can advise.

I think that 9 has a lot more features than 6 and is basically quite similar to CS5 but for significantly less. I would go for 9 it does more and is more future proof.
