Electronic contact on lens broken off - easy fix, or a professional job?

One of the little electronic contacts on my Sigma 300mm f/2.8 broke off and fell in long grass (yeah) rendering the autofocus and electronic aperture adjustment inoperable

All those contacts seem to be part of a module held in by a couple of screws - does anyone know if that's a component I can source and fit myself?
I've emailed my local camera store the same question as they do camera and lens repairs, just awaiting a response.

This has happened at the worst possible time for me, so I really need it fixed as soon as possible, and while I could probably leave it with the aforementioned camera store, it could take a long time to get it back.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do your local store actually do the repairs or do they just send it away.

Personally I would recommend giving Sigma a call. They may be able to supply the part, or they might offer a fast turnaround on a repair if they have the part in stock.

Looks like a professional job. Getting the part is one thing, connecting it all up could be another.

I would send that pic to Sigma-Imaging, then follow up with a phone call. They are best placed to offer advice on both the repair and fastest turnaround. They could obviously fix it (prolly favourite) or could maybe supply the part quickly to a local repair shop. If the lens has had a hard life, might be an opportunity to get it checked over, too. A short term hire might be needed meantime.

Take care changing lenses. It looks like a tiny shoulder of protective plastic has been broken off, exposing the the contract to potential damage

I've emailed Sigma about this, but have since discovered that the lens is still within the 6 month warranty that was supplied when I bought it used from an eBay store.
As such I have also contacted the store to see what they say about it.
