Our kitchen does not have a radiator so is sometimes cold. To save the upheaval of putting another radiator into the central heating system we have considered a wall mounted electric heater, like this -

The kitchen is about 4m x 2.5m and has only one outside wall.

Does anyone have any experience/opinion/observations of these types of heater?

We had a plumbed in one and the cat loved it, eventually, first couple of times it kicked in he jumped as he got the hair-dryer treatment, but once he was used to it he loved it, he used to sit in front of it staring at it and waiting for the fan to start. We didnt have any free wall space, all cupboards etc on the walls so the plumbed-in plinth was all we could fit, it worked very well.

We looked at a plinth heater and went to a kitchen suppliers. The view of two of the people there was negative - they blow dust around and cause a draft, but thanks for the replies.

With respect Dave that wasnt my experience but it's your place so it's your choice. I would agree that they might blow dust around but my Mrs has the Dyson out every day as she's dust averse :-) , especially with 2 cats dropping their fur everywhere
