Could I please aks you all what you all use for editing your photos it seems that most of you are using Photo shop is this right and is this the best?

Thanks for the answers in advance. (if there are any!!)

Photoshop is the indusrty standard, and probably the best image editing software, that said it's not the easiest to learn. Lightroom is gaining ground, although a different sort of application, it's really more of a raw converter, but is quicker and easier for basic editing large numbers of image (raw or otherwise)
Paint shop pro, is similar in many ways to photoshop but a lot cheaper, although it doesn't seem to have the following photoshop has.
Gimp is also similar-ish to photoshop but a free application.
Personally I use photoshop for the tricky editing, and lightroom for the bulk of weddings etc.
I could live without lightroom, but I couldn't manage without photoshop. Wayne

I'm using CS4 but its overkill really and i would be able to do the same things with the camera supplied software that i currently use CS4 for .

I use Photoshop CS, which was an upgrade. It works fine for me.

Last December I bought Photoshop Elements 7. It can now be purchased for less than £70. I shoot in RAW, do editing then pass it back to Elements 7 where I could carry out a further edit and save in a range of file formats. Instead, I save it and open it in Photoshop CS (because that is what I am used to).

I do agree that for most of my shots Photoshop is overkill. If you are not familiar with any of the software then Elements 7 is a good package.
