Hi all:wave:
I am new to editing and would welcome advice on what to look for in an editing package, or more to the point advice off the mighty Talk photography group on what is worth a punt? Lightroom or Paintshop :tumbleweed::tumbleweed:

I am to start a photography course (beginners) soon and would like to get to grips with an editing kit first if possible.

Thank you in anticipation

Duncan.

Just uploaded some new shots let me know what you think. ( not to harsh:lol::thankyou:)

Hi Duncan

It depends on how much editing you want to do. I am no pro and Lightroom does everything I need it to do. If you like cloning things out etc you can look at photo shop. Also have a look at photo shop elements.

Sorry should have said that you can download a trial version of LR from adobe to try if you want.

Adobe elements 10 or 11 editing suite is easy to use and not that expensive

I agree, although if you have a large volume of images, you might consider using both PSE11 and Lightroom as one complements the other.

If your doing a course you might want to find out what they are teaching on, it makes more sense to use the same software your learning on.
