Edit My Images
Yes
hey all
i've been trying to find a web site or anything that can show me how to edit my motorsport photos, after looking at other peoples photos on here they look vibrant and polished and mine just seem to be dusty and colourless in comparison. im using photoshop cc and looking through all the different settings that can be changed seems like being in the cockpit of a jumbo jet trying to work out which button makes it go  can anyone recomend any web sites, help pages, ect..
would be very grateful
cheers

Just sounds like you need to make your images pop in camera raw. Virtually every image to go into PS (or PSCC) would need to go through camera raw (you are shooting in raw, right?) usually some contrast and vibrance will help your image not so colourless, more vibrant and pop out more. Camera Raw should be part of the package and will automatically open when you drag n drop a RAW file into PS/PSCC.

not all the time, most of the time i shoot in jpeg just for memory card sapce, can you not edit jpeg to look as good as raw?

can you not edit jpeg to look as good as raw?

Not as easily.

When a jpeg is created the camera chucks away some information, to compress the file and make it smaller. Once this information is gone it is gone forever. Push and pull the file too much and it will degrade. With a raw file you've got all the information the sensor recorded, so can make the best possible image from it. Also, essential whilst learning, if you screw it up you can go back and have another run at it, you've not altered the original file.

ahh thanks i understand it a bit more now, when i use Photoshop CC, i upload a raw file edit and it looks good, but when i save it i save it as a jpeg and doesn't seem as good in Photoshop. is the same thing happening as if you where taking the shot? in the way of compressing and losing quality? if so what file type would you save it as?
