Hi. It is possible to get photographs of the solar eclipes on the 29th. I have done this before back in 2000 in York. I only used a Cokin poloriser. I had a Minolta camera with a 300mm lens. I got some good shots of it. Later on I got extension rings that doubled the telephoto to 600mm.

I will be getting a second hand Sony A700. So I was wondering can I just do this again or should I include a UV filter. I didn't use one the last time. I have always used Cokin but I am having dificulty these days finding them as it all seems to be K&F now. Can anyone help on these filters and tell me what they know about the K&F as they seem to be popular these days.

Are there any multiplier rings for telephoto lenses with a Sony A700?
