Hi,

Well i recieved my Canon 430EX MKII yesterday, still trying to get my head around it, but was wanting to get some cheap triggers to play around with, i have looked on ebay and found a few, but it mentions all the models that they are compatible with but i havent found any that mention the 430 EX MKII, it does say that it will work with voltages less than 12v, whats the trigger voltage of the 430 MKII?

any one got any recomendations for triggers that work with this flash?

I have seen the ones on gadget infinities store and they look ideal. These ones

ta

bought one like that a while ago

everything has to be done on manual as I recall as there is no interaction between the camera and the flash.

the one I bought didn't work very well anyway, dodgy batteries etc...
they're not that cheap either for 'cheap' kit.
I bought the canon ST unit and it's flawless

Thanks for that, do you have a link to the unit you bought?

dont want to be spending too much as i am just beginning with flash.

Cheers

My friend has the Canon 430ex II and triggers it with Cactus v4's

I've got the Cactus V4's and they're pretty good - yes, everything's on manual but that's no big deal since I'd be running the flashes manually anyway.

Just works via the hotshoe so should be ok with your flash.

Cheers, think i will buy some V4's seem pretty good value, especially since i am just beginning... where did you buy them from? was it from Gadget Infinity?

cheers.

Yeah, they're the main sellers and have links with the manufacturers - the older versions are still available new from eBay but the new triggers seem pretty good and GI were fine to deal with.

Only thing I have to say is that the battery compartment cover is a little loose so I put a little bit of electrical tape over it to keep it on.

Perfect, cheers.

last question... I notice that the triggers come from Hong Kong, did you have to pay any duties when they arrived? I notice on Infinity gadgets website it says that this is down to the buyer to sort out.

No duties to pay in my case.
And I am using PT-04 triggers from eBay - amazing piece of kit. Make sure you will buy the new flat version.
