Ebay:Nikon D2X

Funnily enough I was looking at this last night when it was about £500, I should think it will go for around £1500-£1600 seeing as it is unused.

Very good camera but having just bought another D200 I won't be bidding. No, I wont. I musn't....

Just had a look....is this a bad omen?

LOL

Anyway, it's a great camera...I have the D2Xs which is only slightly different. I certainly notice the quality difference between it and my D70s.

Don't think you would be disappointed. As Hacker says the price will definitely go for a lot more. You can pick up a new D2Xs for around £1800 from HK.

they don't actually say it is a new camera in the listing....but very carefully worded so that you think it is!

Not strictly true Brains ... this is the first line in the description anyway ...

"It takes pictures, that's all I know. After all, I'm only the dogsbody who signs the cheques - first one of our company's photographers tells me he simply must have one of these things, and like a good boss I smile and stump up the asking price. No sooner had it landed on my desk in its shiney gold box than he changes his mind. Result - one Nikon D2X surplus to requirements."

 ... Can't be clearer or fairer than that can they ... :suspect:

Up to £1200 squids now with just over 21 hours to go ... ... Don't look Colin ... DON'T ... :D

:p

I can confirm it has been out of the box only once, and that was to have its photo taken for ebay.

That might strictly be true, but if it's a refurbished camera they should market it as such. Naughty imho

Cannot argue with that ... ;)

I have asked the seller the question ... :suspect: ... and will report back with the response if there is one worth printing ... :D

:p

If anyone's interested - Jessops at Horwich, Bolton, have a brand new D2X body going for £1500. That store is being used as an outlet for stock clearance from other stores that are closing.

I have asked the seller the question

So it was you Ven...

Quote from his listing...

To the gentleman who sent me a torrent of personal abuse for no apparent reason - please, don't get yourself all upset and take it out on others if you can't get some of the long words straight away; the Noddy and Big Ears Bumper book of Bedtime Stories is meant to challenge the developing intellect.

Well ... it finally went for £1,520.01 ... and to a zero feedback buyer ...

I did not receive a response to my question (surprise surprise) ... but if it was the refurb jobby he purchased back in May then he has lost out to the tune of £1,850.00 - £1520.01 = £330 all but a penny ... not bad in two months ... and even more if it was, indeedy, a brand new only out of the box once jobby ...

Anyway ... I did send a message to the successful bidder ... that contained the same question I had asked the seller funnily enough ... is this a bad Venomator ... ... :naughty:

Good luck to both of them ... :suspect:

In case anyone's still after a D2X (& no I'm not ) there's a fella over on AV Forums who's selling one with "3687 clicks" - price was down to £1600 last time I checked - camera from AJ Purdy originally ... Paul ;)

As I said above - there's brand new one going for less than that at Jessops (Horwich) in their clearance sale.

I have a sneaking suspicion I might skip the step up to a D200 and go straight for the D2Xs for my next body. Still a while off yet though.:)
