First question, it looks very good for the money. Whether it really is or not will depend largely on how far the inner baffle is from the outer one, whether or not the inner baffle has a gap between itself and the walls of the softbox and the thickness/opacity of the diffusers.
These are questions the seller should be able to answer for you.
I doubt whether the honeycomb will do much, far too coarse but I could be wrong about that.

2nd question, this is for use with flash. Don't even think about using it with hotlights, it will almost certainly catch fire. You could use it with fluorescent lights, but it will soak up far too much power.

Yes, I think you might be right looking a little closer at this.

I thought it might be able to take the cold bulbs now sold sometimes with this, but I think its just a light holder as opposed to a lamp holder.
