Ps3 broke - went RLOD

Found an ebay person who fixes them. Checked feedback - generally good, especially those that had ps3 fixes done

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/GspElectricalRepairs

during the week I bought it I had good contact with the seller. Getting address clarifying terms etc. You don't pay for the fix until the fix has been implemented

Sent the ps3 and heard nothing. Over a week later, still nothing despite 3 emails. 2 texts and 3 phone calls.

Opened an ebay dispute but what can they do? How can they help me get my ps3 back? I have proof it was sent and a signature at the other end. Once the dispute ends. What can ebay do for me?

Would I need to take this to the police as effectively the guy has stolen my ps3 right?

You never know, he could be otherwise engaged.

I'd deal with eBay until you know he's stolen your PS3

that's what I will do. But just getting as much knowledge as possible beforehand.

i think technically he breaking ebay rules anyway, i thought services had to be listed as a classified add..

plus is it stealing if you willingly sent it? did you have any sort of agreement in writing before sending etc?

well his sale page has the steps on it. Then the agreement is surely when I buy the service.

I just sent a lens to sigma to get repaired. We had no agreement before I sent it, they told me to send it with a covering letter. The agreement came once they recieved it. That's pretty standard of a lot of "services" I guess?

It clearly states the process on his site so I think I'm ok there. But I don't really see what ebay can do other than closing his account. They can't help me get my ps3 back.

You say, 'over a week later' no response ... could the guy be ill/on holiday?
A week+ doesn't seem excessive, or am I misreading the situation?

Additionally do you have proof of the unit being delivered?

Try ringing the number they answered on before from another number rather than any that you gave them.

There may be a simple explanation to why they haven't returned calls other than dishonesty.

yes have proof of delivery. He could be all of those things. The reason it seems odd is that right up until the day I sent it I had rapid communications from him. Then 10 days later and nothing on 3 different types of contact. If he was going on holiday he'd have said in his initial comms. If he was ill then it would be something serious to warrant not replying to email, ebay, text of phone calls.

It easily could be something like this. But I'm preplanning what I do in the event it isn't. Well actually I'm trying to find out if there is even anything I can do. Ebay can't do anything as it's not like they can take money I paid him away - how can they get back something I sent? they can't.

have tried on different phone numbers already

Interesting. Last ebay activity was 15th August responding to someone saying they were a scam...

Maybe it is time to leave feedback saying you have contacted them several times and heard nothing. Or use the ask question system to leave a question stating you've not heard from them in spite of repeated contacts so when will your ps3 be returned repaired?

yes I saw that too, which proves he has checked ebay. So he'll have had 3 messages on his ebay inbox from me that he has ignored

Well I'll give it the 7 days eBay state for the resolution and then do my best to get him closed down
